OTC Names Technical Program Committee Chairs for 2011 OTC Brasil Conference

Richardson, Texas (9 September 2010) – The Offshore Technology Conference Board of Directors has named Ricardo Juiniti Bernardo, wells operations executive manager of OGX, and David Brookes, chief engineer of subsea and floating systems for BP, as Co-Chairmen of the OTC Brasil Program Committee. They will lead a distinguished slate of international and Brazilian experts to create a world-class technical program for OTC Brasil, a new conference that will bring upstream professionals from around the globe to Rio de Janeiro 4-6 October 2011.

 “The creation of OTC Brasil is an important sign that the global petroleum industry recognizes Brazil as being on the cutting edge of offshore technology,” said Ricardo Juiniti Bernardo, OTC Brasil Program Committee Co-Chairman.

 “We are very excited about this new international conference and the opportunities in Brazil to share technical knowledge. This conference will offer a tremendous opportunity for global companies to learn about Brazilian technology and operations, and for professionals in Brazil to get the latest information about approaches being used in projects around the world,” said Susan Cunningham, chairman of the OTC Board of Directors.

The OTC Brasil Program Committee will include senior technical experts from a broad range of companies including Aker Solutions, HRT Oil and Gas, OGX, Petrobras, Projemar, Acergy, Anadarko, BP, Baker Hughes, Cummins, Deepflex, ExxonMobil, FloaTEC, FMC, GE Oil & Gas, Global Geophysical Services, Granherne, GVA, Halliburton, Integra Service Technologies, Antares Offshore, J. Ray McDermott Asia Pacific Pte, KBR, Looper Reed, MB Oilfield Products, Nautronix, Oil States, Repsol YPF, Cameron, SBM Alantia, Subsea Riser Products, Shell, Statoil, Technip, United States Steel, Universidade de Sao Paulo, Weatherford International and Woodside Energy. The Committee will develop a comprehensive technical program representative of the12 OTC sponsoring societies, which cover all aspects of offshore technology.

OTC Brasil will offer technical presentations during three days of concurrent sessions. The conference agenda will include special sessions presenting business-related topics, panel sessions with industry and technical leaders sharing their views on key trends and technical issues, and a range of social events. Updates will be provided on key international offshore projects, as well as projects in Brazil.
The call for paper proposals for OTC Brasil will begin in November 2010. The program committee will review the paper proposals received and determine which should be presented, develop session topics, and serve as session chairpersons during the conference.
